organized chaos

burning man is approaching and plans are being made. this year is shaping up to be the best yet. of course, i say that every year, but this time it appears i really mean it. a wealth of people are planning on attending with our little group. that will make our little group one giant group when everyone gets there. we have people coming from all over southern california, hawaii, san francisco and places on the east coast. we have newbies, we have verterans and we have volunteers. we even have a 2 year old!
every one of my 7 years on the playa have been fantastic. some better than others and always different people in camp. the biggest year, in terms of people, was 2001. we had our little group and we had a larger group of Canadians. this made for a camp that always had something going on. there was always someone in camp and sometimes we even knew them. this year looks like it will be similar. we have a number of different groups of people, all planning their own trip and their own setup once they get there. but, we are organizing everyone into a little village that will be suited for everyone.
this will be my 8th year at burning man and i finally feel like that time spent is paying off. a number of people that i have worked my magic on over the years are finally coming to the event! i couldn’t be happier with the list of people that have said they are coming.
as always, the planning, the trip and the event will be taxing and tiring, but once again i am ready to kick my own ass just to have a great time with some great people out in the middle of nowhere!
