I got a new job. I have submitted my letter of resignation for my old job, so I feel comfortable posting about it here. The new job is with Dependable Computer Guys in Glendale. I am so happy about this, I can’t even tell you. The new job is a guaranteed 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime. Not to mention actual benefits! See, a pay cut isn’t really a pay cut when benefits and a lack of driving over 100 miles/day is considered. I start next Monday and I am very excited.
I called and arranged with Dell for the repair of my laptop screen. I have been told for many months that it would be fixed, but I am taking it on myself to get it done because I can’t stand not having a laptop anymore. Right now it’s just a desktop computer and that depresses me. Today, I have to get all the data off it and wipe the hard drive, which should be fun.
I missed Bauhaus this past weekend. It just wasn’t meant to be. Here’s hoping they come back again for yet another ressurection tour.
Happy Halloween!! Tonight is my annual screening of Dead Alive, which should be LOTS of fun. I have some special treats in store, some of which are well known. To those who have never seen the movie, it should be pretty interesting. However, I have no costume for the occasion. I have a few short hours to come up with something, else I might need to get one of those cheesy Target shirts that say, “This is my costume.” Which would be lame.
In closing, I have a renewed sense of hope because of my new employment. I have been fighting for over a year to actually get enough work to make my old job worth my while. For a few months in there, I really thought it would work out. The lack of benefits (with relation to my kidneys) was the worst. So, to know that in a few months I will be covered makes my kidneys sign a breath of relief. Not to mention the effect this will have on my poor overdrawn bank account.
Thanks to everyone who wished me luck on my interviews. It worked!

Welcome to the 9 to 5 gig (finally). It’s really not all it’s cracked up to be, but they pay you and you’re usually not bored. ;)

Asha, I think you need to find the right job.
I mean, it’s not like this is the job that I’ve waited my entire life to have, but it’s not *always* boring. :)
Hooray for Patrick who will now be able to fund the Steak and Lobster edition of TND. *giggle*

From his recollection of the first day trial run, they’re fairly busy, and if not busy he’ll have other tasks to keep himself busy with.
Again, congrats. You rock out with your cock out.
