something something

Ready for an update? Too bad! You’re getting one, anyway!

Tuesday night dinners have proven to be the very best idea anyone ever had. Thanks to Amanda for coming up with a way for everyone to get together once a week. Not to mention the food! The meals have been spectacular each and every time. I’m excited for my turn to come around again so we can have breakfast for dinner. Tuesday nights have also fostered getting people who don’t come around all the time to come and hang out. Was surprised to actually get Travis on the phone and then to have him show up for the whole night, too?! Amazing.

Video games have worked their way into the festivities (whether or not Amanda likes it ;)). We finally got all the GBAs and cables together to have some serious Zelda: Four Swords Adventures action. That game is so much fun. It’s rather competitive, unfortunately. But, ignoring that, most fun 4 player game ever. I like it better than Mario Party because there isn’t a huge time commitment and there are even mini-games!

I just rented two other games (using my free rentals through blockbuster.com), Mortal Kombat: Deception and Star Wars: Episode III: Reenge of the Sith. While I like MK, I love Episode III! RotS has single player where you battle through the movie and a multi-player where you can either duel with others or work cooperatively to beat 4 or 5 bonus levels. The extra characters make the duels fun. Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Ben Kenobi! Anakin Skywalker vs. Darth Vader! So much fun. I think I like this game so much because I am actually good at it. I can even kick Max’s butt, which isn’t a normal thing.

Heading off to Vegas this weekend with a bunch of people. The festivities include Dave and Max’s birthdays which will be celebrated at a big kegger at Dave’s house. The kegger follows us going to the free Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Weezer concert! I am very excited as I haven’t seen either band live. It’s also Corey Loop’s birthday, so he and all his friends will be there. I am also getting to see my friends Kala and Sean, whom I met the last time I was in Vegas at the Crown and Anchor. Planning to have pasta and vodka with them on Sunday night. Mmmm… pasta and vodka.

Then, two weekends from now, Amanda, Asha and I are going to the bay area for Burning Man gate training. This means a meeting with all the gate folks, but it also means staying on Haight in San Fran with our friend Roar! He’s being nice enough to let us stay at his new place. He’s also planning on camping with us this year.

We’ve been seeing Powder a lot lately. They played at the El Rey, which is my favorite venue for them. Then, they played at Saddle Ranch. Not the best show, as it was some kind of fundraiser for Fire and Police departments and had something to do with bikers. The place was swarmed with tough leathered bikers who didn’t quite appreciate Powder, except that Ninette was hot and half-dressed. They’re playign again at the Key Club during the Fetish Ball, but I don’t want to spend the kind of money required to go to the Ball.

Canadians rule. They just do, admit it.

Ryan sent me videos and pictures of Senator. Cute kid, very cute. Can’t wait to meet him (hopefully) next year.

That is all. I’m off to pack for the weekend. I am going to make a serious effort to update my picture gallery once I get back.

Viva!

Thank you. :) It’s nice to hear that you’re a genius.

The only problem with getting people to come by that usually don’t is that I’ve been doing this since March, and I still haven’t had *my* turn! I don’t mind so much, though, I can never decide exactly what I want anyway.

I don’t really mind the video games, I just like it better when I walk into the room and people actually say hello to me before I go and slave over a hot stove for them. ;)
