the rain
February 23rd, 2005 | by prick |Sure, it’s causing a lot of damage and a lot of people are sick of it, but I’m not. I realized why I’m not sick of it, though. All of you have been out in it this whole time, while I’ve been layed out at home missing all the watery action. So, while many of you will be happy to see it go on Thursday, I will miss it. I feel like it was just getting started.
All I know is that I really like the sound of the rain through my windows. I think I will sleep now, wishing I could leave a window open.

Yeah, I like it when I’m safe inside listening to it on my roof.
I do not like it when I’m standing outside trying to get the lock on my garage to close (it’s being *very* stubborn lately for some reason) and it not only drips off the roof onto my head, but is pouring from the clouds too.
I don’t mind driving in it too much either, just that it fogs my windows. Foggy windows are stupid.
I *do* like the bruised color of the clouds, that’s kinda cool.
Oooh, and the thunder. We need MORE of that!

It destroyed a big chunk of it! Last night on the 6 pm news they showed a huge mudslide that took out a big portion of the upper hiking trail and closed down the lower trail because of the danger of falling mud and rocks. I doubt they’ll have much of it open for awhile.

I imagine that all the adventuring we did in Eaton Canyon will do us no good now. I figure that the whole landscape has changed drastically again.
I do want to get people together for a trip into the Canyon (once it’s open again), so I will call you April. :)

I’m cool with rain under two sets of circumstances - if I’m home by a fire or with a loved one, OR if I’m at the beach. Thing is, I have been driving in it almost non-stop since I moved here. So yuck, poop.
